BgSE signs up with DotEx

 

Mumbai, February 19, 2002 – BgSE Financials Ltd., a subsidiary of Bangalore Stock Exchange (BgSE), has signed up with DotEx International to provide Internet trading facility to over 100 Bangalore Stock Exchange members.

BgSE Financials is an exchange subsidiary member of National Stock Exchange (NSE), enabling BgSE members to trade on NSE. DotEx International, promoted by NSE.iT and i-flex solutions ltd., provides Internet trading infrastructure to NSE members.

Internet trade by investors of BgSE brokers will be routed to National Stock Exchange’s trading system using the Internet trading infrastructure of DotEx (www.dotexplaza.com). Internet trading by BgSE Financials will be launched on February 20, 2002.

BgSE Financials is the first exchange subsidiary of a regional stock exchange to offer Internet trading facility to its members. With the addition of BgSE Financials, DotEx have enabled nearly 500 SEBI registered broking entities to offer Internet trading to their investors. Since the launch of DotEx in November 2000, more than 80 per cent of NSE members offering Internet trading have opted to use DotEx infrastructure. DotEx is India’s only Application Service Provider (ASP) offering Internet trading infrastructure to stockbrokers. The business model of DotEx is to enable stock brokers to offer Internet trading to their customers fast without having to set up, maintain and upgrade the trading system on their own. A stockbroker who has decided to offer Internet trading to its customers can offer the facility within a week’s time with DotEx. He just needs to sign up with DotEx Plaza and request his customers to get a DotEx Trading Account Number from dotexplaza.com site. The customer can begin to trade after the broker adds him to the DotEx Internet Trading System. The stockbroker will have a separate administrative site where he can add customers and set trading limits, apart from other customer support functions. At present DotEx Plaza offers Internet trading on National Stock Exchange.
